We’re not Chimps!

You’ve heard the claim – supposedly our DNA is very similar to the DNA of chimpanzees and other great apes.  The atheist Smithsonian Institution says the similarly is 98.8%!

Guess what? Last year that myth was destroyed by detailed scientific data.  And guess what else – they won’t admit it!

If you’re looking for a prestigious science magazine, Nature Magazine is as elite as it gets.  Last year they reported on the complete sequencing of the DNA (genome) of five great ape species.  Before, we only had fragments of the ape genomes. If they took a fragment, and IF it matched up with a section of human DNA, they found that the differences were small.

But now we have the complete DNA sequences for the great apes.  And when scientists match them up, there are HUGE gaps that don’t align!  About 13% of the chimp DNA doesn’t match up with anything in human DNA!  That’s huge!  There are hundreds of millions of “letters” in chimp DNA that don’t match up with human DNA, and vice versa. So when you add this “gap” variation to the roughly 1% variation in the sections that do align you get a total difference of about 14%.  That’s 14 times greater than the number the Smithsonian uses!

We want to think scientists are objective and would never slant their conclusions to pander to internal biases. But that’s not true. The writers of Nature magazine buried this bombshell fact – that the discrepancy is 14 times greater than previously believed – in the technical data in the appendix. Casey Luskin of the Discovery Institute wrote this article that does a great job explaining the technical details and documenting the cover up. Casey has written 10 articles in all on this subject, and you can find them all here.

Casey calls this a “bombshell” that explodes the myth that we are evolved apes. The new findings destroy Darwin’s theory. It’s a shock to evolutionists, but not to Creationists.  Ten years ago geneticist Jeffrey Tompkins of the Institute for Creation Research predicted the overall difference, including gaps, would be about 15%.  Dr. Tompkins has been vindicated. As he writes – “Once more, science affirms the Holy Scriptures.”

Best to all,

Doug
